Trailing by one point, Chris Warren knocked down a three-point shot with just 2.9 seconds remaining to give his team the win.

Warren lead the Rebels with 22 points in the contest, but it was his final shot that will be best remembered.

The guard said the shot felt good when it left his hand, and that his team really needed it to go down.

He said that the game was a lot of fun because they won, and that hasn’t been something they have done a lot of lately.

The Rebels actually did a pretty good job of controlling quarterback Cameron Newton in the pocket and not letting him run loose.

The only problem is they forgot about stopping the team’s actual running back, Michael Dwyer, who rushed for 181 yards.

Mississippi was hoping they would get a big game out of quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who is no stranger to the big stage.

Masoli didn’t play poorly, but he was going to need to do far more to keep pace with Auburn’s offense.

The Rebels were absolutely stunned by Jacksonville State in double overtime, 49-48, to open up the season.

Mississippi built a 31-10 lead by halftime and seemed well on their way to blowing Jacksonville State right out of the stadium.

A Jacksonville State field goal was the only score in the third quarter by either side, barely causing panic for the Rebels.

However, the Gamecocks scored three touchdown in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime, where they eventually won it.

It’s a stunning ruling from the NCAA, one that the Rebels, Masoli and head coach Houston Nutt never considered.

The school has already said it plans to appeal the ruling and have it reversed within the next week.

Masoli was requesting a waiver to play immediately after being kicked off the Oregon Ducks team and eventually out of school.

If the ruling stands, it’s a huge hit for an Ole Miss team that was counting on Masoli as its quarterback this year.

Masoli plans to play quarterback for the Rebels, who has just two players on scholarship at the position.

Head coach Houston Nutt was uncommitted when asked about rumors that Masoli would play at Ole Miss.

However, he did mention that they could certainly use another quarterback on scholarship to add talent and depth at the position.

The big key for Masoli isn’t going to be learning the playbook but managing to stay out of trouble off the field.

Masoli was finally kicked out of Oregon after he had yet more legal trouble, ending his career there.

Nutt only has two scholarship quarterbacks on his roster, which means Masoli is very much in play.

It’s certainly a risk to bring in a player who has had multiple run-ins with law enforcment, but the pay off could be worth it.

Terrico White led the Rebels with 19 points and seven rebounds.

The team was without freshman big man Reginald Buckner, who missed his second game with a sprained ankle.

Without Buckner in the low post, the Rebels really had no answer for the load that is DeMarcus Cousins.

Head coach Andy Kennedy said that they wanted to try and slow down Kentucky and limit the easy buckets, but just couldn’t do it.
